Response

Response of the Book

Overall I did enjoy reading the book Multiple Blessings. Before reading this book, I had seen the show Jon and Kate Plus Eight, and from seeing the TV show it really depicted the family as being very disfunctional. Not really showing the fun that they have together and how the family is really focused on God, and are, in fact, are a very religious family. But from reading this book I now do realize that they are a great family just trying to live out God's plan for them all. I recommend this book to the people who have had the same impression from the TV show as I did.

Real Life Issues

Real Life Issues

There were some points in the book were Kate would question God's purpose for her with all those babies. Or she would forget about God and mostly just pity herself and complain. I understand her feeling bad for herself to an extent, but she dwelled on it. And in my opinion, dwelling on pity for yourself pushes you away from God spiritually. I mean, how can you hear God's voice when you are focusing on your own pain and self pity. But like I said, who hasn't done that before, it was just overboard negativity in the book.

But on a lighter note, I think that Kate a lot of times would try and bring her situations back to God and put her trust in Him. Also, I thought it was really cool how she genuinely thanked all the people who volunteered for taking care of her babies daily. And she also acknowledged people who would leave large amounts of money for them, and showed that they really did care for her family and newborn sextuplets.

I think there was always the glaring question to Kate if she wanted to get a abortion for some of her babies. And I think that this is where God really showed himself in this story because at first they were not sure if they wanted all of those babies. But when it came down to it Kate could not let any of them go and she knew that God gave all of them to her for a reason.

I think this book clearly demonstrates that even if you aren't sure how your going to make it through something, if you just take it day by day with God. then you can do anything and God will always get you through it, financially, spiritually, physically, and mentally. Kate and Jon are a great example of these attributes because they trusted in God and they made it through.

Movie

Movie: Not Such a Normal Life

Q. What would the movie be called?
A. The movie title would be Not Such a Normal Life

Q. How much would the movie cost and Why?
A. The movie relatively would not cost much. I will be having Jon and Kate act as themselves and I will have volunteer people be the extras in the movie. The only thing that will cost a lot is the cameras and crew for that. We are looking at a price ranging from 1-3 million dollars.

Q. How long would the movie be?
A.  The movie would be approximately 1.5-2 hrs.

Q. What would the Movie be rated and why?
A. PG. It will be a family friendly movie about a family just trying to make it through the rough parts in life, with multiple blessings getting thrown their way.

Q. Who would be the actors playing the primary roles?
A. Jon and Kate will be playing themselves in this movie, and the children will also be playing themselves.

Q. How will the movie be filmed and why?
A. This movie will definitely be filmed as a documentary because i want to keep this story as close to the truth as possible. Without stretching the truth at all, just to show how amazing their story really is.

Poem

Poem: The New Life
(From Kate's perspective)

We want kids that's all Jon and I know,
to see our own babies mature and grow.
So we tried and we tried, but to our dismay,
to have children together there was no way.
though we were crushed we turned to pray,
God showed us that we were going to be OK.
The doctor spoke of a hope, brought on by medications,
that might lead me to make multiple creations.
Full of life Jon and I tried again once more,
This time we finally scored.
I was so happy my own twin girls were born,
But a few years later I became forlorn.
I wanted more babies so that's what I got,
I asked of the Lord and received quite a lot.
Six babies all at one time,
This journey has definitely been a climb.

The settings and extras

The Settings and Extras of Multiple Blessings

Kate dedicated the book Multiple Blessings to Jon and said the following,

To Jon-

Thank you for all you do and for all you put up with. Now I know you mean it when you said in your vows that you would be here "through all the new and challenging experiences."

You're a wonderful husband, you're an amazing father, and you learned from the best. Your dad- Poppy -would be so proud.

Also to Grandma and grandpa-

The truest example of God's unconditional love.

The setting of the book starts off in a park, were Jon and Kate both catch each others glances and meet for the first time. Six months later they get married at a garden wedding in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. When Kate was pregnant with her sextuplets she stayed at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The Gosselins currently live in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.

Also, a cool extra to the book is the last few pages. The last few pages are a copy of Kate's handwritten notes from her journal, during her pregnancy with the sextuplets.

This first picture is Jon and Kates first house. Before they had the sextuplets.

This next picture is the house they bought after the sextuplets...

Multiple Blessings

Multiple Blessings

This blog, by Stefanie, was created solely for writing my review on the book Multiple Blessings, by the Gosselin/ Carson.

Multiple Blessings is about Kate whom is newly married to Jon Gosselin. Together they agree that they are ready for a family. But soon they come to find out that Kate is unable to have children, and learn that she has a condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Which basically means that she does not ovulate at all. They, of course, were devastated.

But since they are a family of faith they prayed, and prayed, and prayed. Soon they discovered different injections that she could take to cause her to ovulate, only if it was successful. So they took the chance and did the injection. But to their disappointment, time after time the injection did not work. But one morning Kate did the test and she walked away, not paying attention to the pregnancy test she groggily went back to bed. Which is unusual for her to not wait patiently for the dreaded results of a neutral white, showing that she was, as usual, not pregnant.

When she woke up, she went back to the bathroom to check her previous pregnancy test results and saw that the little window on the stick was a light pink, indicating that she was pregnant. She couldnt
believe her eyes so she took three more tests and they all were positive. She ran into her bedroom, where Jon was sleeping, and woke him up to show him the good news... And from there their new life would begin...
